The ICTSZ is registered with the Registrar of Societies and in the process of becoming a corporate body through an Act of Parliament which is currently ICTSZ Bill. The Society focuses on regulating and growing the ICT profession whose main functions and objectives inter alia include:
- To promote the general advancement of the Information and Communications Technology use and advancement of the ICT profession and allied disciplines in the nation;
- To register all ICT professionals and formulate, maintain, enforce and regulate proper codes of conduct, ethical and professional standards on and for all members in the ICT and allied professions in Zambia;
- To play an advisory role to government and the ICT matters, and promote research and technology advancement as well as their implications to the nation etc.
